PRC co-organised this webinar series of more than 30 sessions where people from civil society organisations and people’s movements presented their thoughts and research on the reimagination of India’s post-COVID future.
Session-14 specifically focused on issues of urban sustainability. Rajendra Ravi, coordinator of People’s Resource Centrem provided the context and shared his introductory comments. Nishant presented the sketches of alternative urbanism for Indian cities and talked about the research work on urban agriculture in Delhi. Prof. Geetam Tiwari (IIT Delhi) shared insights on urban mobility and solutions to address the crisis in the sector. Rajendra Bhise (YUVA and Right To City Campaign) talked about the need to bring progressive reforms in urban governance and making people’s participation a central feature of decision-making.
