Peoples' Resource Centre is seeking a talented graphic designer to join our team. As an organization dedicated to empowering communities and promoting social change, we understand the importance of impactful visual communication. We are looking for a skilled graphic designer who can bring our quarterly newsletter to life with captivating designs that engage our readers and convey our message effectively. In addition, you will play a crucial role in creating visually stunning layouts and illustrations for our various publications. Your designs will have the power to inspire, inform, and drive positive change.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a graphic designer at People's Resource Centre, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Designing the Quarterly Newsletter: Create visually appealing and engaging designs for our quarterly newsletter. This includes selecting appropriate images, typography, and layout to effectively communicate our message to our readers.
- Layout Design for Publications: Develop attractive and well-organized layouts for our publications, such as brochures, reports, and promotional materials. Ensure that the designs are aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly, and aligned with our brand guidelines.
- Illustrations and Infographics: Create custom illustrations and infographics that effectively convey complex information and ideas in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand manner.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with our content writers, editors, and marketing team to understand the requirements and goals of each project. Collaborate effectively to ensure that the visual elements align with the overall message and objectives.
- Branding and Visual Identity: Help maintain and strengthen our organization's visual identity by ensuring consistency across all design materials. Uphold brand guidelines and contribute to the evolution of our brand through innovative design solutions.
- Digital Design: Create graphics and visuals for our website, social media platforms, and other digital channels. Optimize designs for online use and ensure they are responsive across various devices.
- Stay Updated on Design Trends: Keep abreast of current design trends, techniques, and software to continuously enhance your skills and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Qualifications & Competencies
We are looking for passionate and driven individuals who possess:
- A deep curiosity about urban issues, the history of urban social movements, and a burning desire to explore their impact.
- Fearlessness in the face of vast amounts of data, coupled with exceptional analytical and sorting skills.
- Tech-savviness and a digital mindset, allowing you to work seamlessly with various file types.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Canva. Video Editing skills are preferable but not compulsory.
