Disappearing Gotakhors : Diver community of Yamuna”. The film attempts to focus on the lives of the Gotakhor of Yamuna and their traditional knowledge and expertise. The importance of Gotakhors lies in the age-old honed diving and swimming skills they have carried through generations. Keeping the water clean, retrieving valuable objects from the bottom, or even assisting in disasters or accidents. This film recapitulates the critical role played by Gotakhors amidst modern disaster management practices and rapid urbanisation.
