Research Associates and Interns

Harshit Verma is a Research Associate at People's Resource Centre with a keen interest in social policy and sustainable development. He holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from Ambedkar University, Delhi. Harshit has always been passionate about working at the grassroots level, which led him to engage with organizations like Dastkar and the Right to Food Campaign. He has also been a part of the Yashwant Grameen Leadership Development Program (YGLDP) in Maharashtra with Centre for Education Governance and Policy, where he gained hands-on experience in policy research and community engagement. He enjoys exploring new ideas, working with teams, and contributing to meaningful change.

Krishanu works as a Research Associate at PRC. Where she looks at urban governance, mobility, and river ecologies. Previously she has worked on the politics of Marriage Equality in India with IIIT Delhi. She completed her M.A. in Sociology from Ambedkar University Delhi. Where she looks at “Launda Naach” which is a caste-based cultural performance embedded in the socio-political context of Bihar. She is interested in the sociology of health and the sociology of law and how these spaces are instrumental in producing a certain discourse around queerness and queer bodies. She has also worked in the SRH space, primarily engaging with access to safe abortions for the sex workers and Transgender community. She also engages in advocacy on queer-trans and disability issues.

Priyansh Maurya works as Research Associate at PRC. He is a researcher based in New Delhi, with a deep interest in issues of state and governance, urban development and its implications, food security, marginality, and land rights. He holds a Master’s degree in History from Sikkim University, where his dissertation focused on the Bengal (1943) and Mizoram (1959) famines, comparing governance responses in colonial and democratic regimes. Priyansh has worked with organizations such as the Right to Food Campaign and All India Kisan Sabha, Jagrit Adivasi Dalit Sangathan (JADS) contributing to field surveys, archival documentation, policy research, and campaign coordination across multiple states. His experience also includes ground-level work with tribal communities and heritage conservation projects. He is passionate about oral history, anthroplogical and ethnographic research, and has been leading independent heritage walks in Delhi. Skilled in archival research, documentation, and public communication, Priyansh combines academic rigor with field-based insights to contribute to rights-based and historical research initiatives.
