He is the founding Director of Institute for Democracy and Sustainability and has been writing extensively on urbanisation, development processes and democracy for more than three decades. He is also the national convener of National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM) and co-convener, Sustainability Urban Mobility Network (SUMNet).
He is a national convener of National Alliance of People’s Movements and has been engaged in campaigns and policy advocacy around issues such as communities’ control over land, water, forest and mineral resources, issues of displacement due to development, energy projects, industrial corridors; resource mobilisation etc.
Dr. Shalini Sharma
She is Commonwealth Rutherford Fellow at School of International Development, University of East Anglia, UK and Trustee, Remember Bhopal Trust & Museum. She has earlier taught at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati at the Centre for Ecology, Environment and Sustainable Development. She is also, Visiting Fellow at UNESCO C2C For Natural Heritage Management & Training in Asia-Pacific.
